ENTRA1 is NuScale's exclusive global strategic partner commercializing the NuScale SMR Technology. Through this partnership, NuScale deploys its approved SMR Technology globally to ENTRA1 while ENTRA1 develops, finances, owns, and operates energy production plants.

NuScale’s certified SMRs are cost-competitive and based on proven technology that uses widely available and utilized nuclear fuel. o NuScale’s design builds on the success of light water reactors that have been operational for decades as part of current conventional nuclear plants and SMRs used by the U.S. Navy nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers. o NuScale Power Modules operate with conventional nuclear fuel, which is widely available and utilized, and has an established regulatory framework.

The innovative yet simple design of NuScale’s SMRs provides a cost competitive, safe and scalable solution for a wide range of energy needs. o NuScale Power Modules are fully factory fabricated with no in-field construction. This keeps costs low, consistent and predictable—and makes power plants using NuScale’s SMR Technology less expensive to build, operate and maintain. o Compared with conventional nuclear technology, NuScale SMRs require significantly less investment and construction time (~3 years vs. 6-10 years). o NuScale’s best-in-class, NRC-approved safety features enable a site-boundary emergency planning zone that better accommodates siting in close proximity to end-users. This is particularly important to process heat off-takers and for repowering retired coal-fired generation facilities.
